I had the opportunity to participate in the 20th UEFA Elite Club Coaches Forum in Nyon. One more year, I received an invitation to the forum and I have to say that it's always a pleasure to attend this event. Thank you to UEFA and to its president for this invitation. In the forum, I met with my colleagues, top coaches like Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus FC), Carlo Ancelotti (SSC Napoli), Sergio Conceição (FC Porto), Paulo Fonseca (FC Shakhtar Donetsk), Rudi García (Olympique de Marseille), Şenol Güneş (Beşiktaş JK), Julen Lopetegui (Real Madrid CF), José Mourinho (Manchester United FC), Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain) and Arsène Wenger.
As in previous ocassions, we came together at Nyon to talk about proposals for the most important football organization in Europe, always thinking about the improvement of the european competition. This time, we talked about the transfer window closure, the number of sustitutions in a game or the implement of VAR technology, for example.
We participated in many debates. About the advanced transfer window closure in England and Italy, I always think that it would be an improvement to avoid the beginning of competition, but all the top leagues has to close the market at the same time to not take advantage over the others. Talking about the sustitutions in the matches of UEFA Champions League, I agree with the actual rule, maybe allow one change in the extra time. However, the double value of the goals away during the extra time it´s a great disadvantage for the visiting team. Finally, about the VAR technology and his implement in the european football, I think that is a improvement to help the referees in their decisions, but there is work ahead to know the very important moments to not interrupt the pace of the game. To summarize, a great, intense and useful day in Nyon. Now, we will keep working in our next game against Arsenal. C'MON TOONS!!!!!
