Napoli progressed through to the quarter finals of the UEFA Europa League with a professional performance in the second leg of their last 16 tie against Dynamo Moscow in the Khimki Arena. The game finished goaless, meaning Napoli were 3-1 winners on aggregate over the two legs. Afterwards Rafa Benitez spoke of the unity in his squad and the determination they have to continue making progress in the competition. Its 26 years since Napoli have reached this stage of the competition and the Azzurri coach was pleased with how the team performed "we deserved to go through, we played a difficult team and we got the victory thanks to the hard work and and character of our players".Benitez says they executed the game plan perfectly "every player showed the attitude needed to look for the win, and they played very well against such a tough opponent especially on the offensive side". Benitez says they are embracing the challenge of playing in Europe "we have qualified without suffering and to master this game with the personality we showed was not exactly an easy task". And he was full of praise for his players "we approached the game correctly and with the right mindset, so everything went as we had planned and I have to admit I'm quite satisfied. As a team we have worked long and hard and we've also shown great motivation. Its important that we now face each and every match that lies ahead in the same way".

Napoli went into the game with a 3-1 lead from the first leg in Naples and Benitez feels his team could have even left Moscow with a win "we could have scored because we hit the post twice and also the crossbar, and we perhaps we could have made more of other chances. But these are the only parts of the match where we could have done better. But I have to say that the team's international experience is growing and we can still mature even further in some ways". Benitez praised the fans for their incredible support "it was important that we did not lose, both for ourselves and for the supporters. And we maintained our footballing philosophy and organization on the pitch, which in a game like this is always crucial. Perhaps we can be more decisive in the final third and thats something we can improve on even in the Italian championship".

Only two Italian sides now remain in the Europa League. Fiorentina joined Napoli in the last 8 of the competition after a 4-1 aggregate win over AS Roma. Benitez believes his Napoli side can go all the way to Warsaw "we are here because we believe we can reach the final and we want to! But I know this type of competition well and what we need to do is to only think about the next game, and go step by step. We are now in the quarterfinals, we have achieved a very important goal for both the team and the club and we will make every effort to progress further on the international stage".
