Rafa Benítez, SSC Napoli head coach has shown great satisfaction with the changes in his squad, especially in confidence, personality and self esteem. These are all aspects which he felt were the only part missing in their games given that they were always close to getting a better result than what they did on various occasions. He spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss, the club ́s official radio station prior to their game tomorrow at the 'Artemio Franchi' stadium against Fiorentina, their eleventh Italian Serie A game. The Spaniard spoke of the atmosphere and also highlighted their rival ́s strength: "In Florence we await a complicated atmosphere, but we have confidence in our own possibilities, we must continue on the same track".

"The team has been playing at a very high level throughout the whole season and that has been key to improving our confidence. And now we are reaping the rewards with positive results that on other occasions were denied to us despite the good chances we had", explained the head coach of the Neapolitan team, who added: "now we can face any team and do this with the guarantee of success. I think we have shown this many times, we just need to materialise our chances, just as we have been doing in the last few games. I’m sure the positive results will come with much more continuity and we will be able to continue getting closer to our objectives".

Benítez answered a few questions during his interview on Radio Kiss Kiss as follows:

Will there be many changes to the team we saw on Thursday ́s UEFA Europa League game?

"One thing that is clear, despite the skepticism, is that the squad has shown a high level and now we have many options in all competitions, this is largely due to the discussed rotations. Against Young Boys for example, it was proven that the players we chose for that game contributed their quality and knowledge and that is very important. Furthermore, Hamsik has now recovered from his fever and we can also count on David Lopez again. However, Michu and Zuniga are injured for this game but other than that we have the whole group to choose from and we will see if we can make an adequate selection to achieve the victory".

We have recently heard the good news that Callejón has been selected for the Spanish national team...

"Yes that is true and we are very happy. We have been talking about this possibility with José (Callejón) for a long time. I know Vicente del Bosque very well and on many occasions we have spoken of Callejón ́s quality and his possibilities, what he can contribute to the team and the aspects which he can improve on. The nicest and most important thing that the Spanish national coach said to me was that he selected Callejón because he deserves it. It is a great satisfaction for him and also for our technical team and of course the Club".

Napoli continues this year, like last year, breaking past records....

"Yes and clearly it is a great motivation for us. It must become a real incentive to continue improving. Having achieved as many victories and good results as the statistics say up to now means we are on the right track and we need to continue growing, on the same track".

Are you expecting a complicated game in Florence? It seems Fiorentina is going through a crisis....

"Fiorentina is an important team that plays great football. It is a very important club with a coach of a high level, who when playing at home are stronger. It will be difficult we know, but we have complete confidence in our possibilities and we will, with respect, try to get a victory there".

Montella has stated that he has great respect and esteem for Benítez, however today’s press conference has been cancelled. What is your opinion on this?

"I know Vicenzo Montella very well, he is an intelligent coach whom I have spoken to about football on many occasions in Coverciano. I have to say that the feeling is mutual. I have a good relationship with him, he knows perfectly that we respect both his work and his club very much. That is all I will say on this point".

It seems that since you said the motto "shoulder to shoulder" Napoli has once again achieved good results and enthusiasm by the fans....

"The fans perfectly understood the meaning of this, they know if we work "shoulder to shoulder", we will help the team give their best and win. The city has always supported us, they already did last season, I think like this we can achieve important goals. On our part, we must give our maximum in each game so that our fans are proud of our squad. Together we can get far, win many games and achieve the goals that this Club is aiming for".
