Wednesday team 'MBF' went down to the Charles Thompson mission in Birkenhead with bags full of donated clothes and bedding. We had an offer that we couldn't refuse from one of our patrons who are the McPhails who own M53 Ford. The deal was a free car wash for anybody bringing in duvets, blankets or sleeping bags for the mission. We also had an email out to all our supporters and a 'special' bin for depositing requested much needed winter clothing and household goods. Local estate agents Bradshaw, Farnham and Lea also took part in the collection. BFL requested items from people who were moving house and clearing out wardrobes, 25 bags of items came from their various branches. We secured 2 extra large turkeys donated by Asda in Birkenhead and thank Sophie at Asda for her efforts in getting the turkeys for the missions Christmas dinner. Andrew Pimbley of Claremont Farm has donated vegetables and we at the MBF have bought everything else that hopefully will make a lovely Christmas dinner for up to 120 people. We are delighted and thank all of our supporters who have donated clothes, bedding and even a washing machine. All these items will hopefully help to make a happier and warmer Christmas for people who attend the Charles Thompson Mission. We wish Bernie and his team a very happy Christmas and hopefully a tasty Christmas dinner.
