Montse and Linda had a very nice visit and tour of Dale Farm in Heswall.
Dale Farm provides a day service for adults with disabilities. It is run as a partnership between the Dale Farm Trust ( charity number 506582)) and Wirral Council Department of Adult Social Services.

The farm buildings have been improved and extended over the years to provide better facilities. These include internal ad external disables toilets, a large dining room and a kitchen. They now provide cooked meals at lunchtime. When we visited the chef was making a tomato and basil soup, collecting his ingredients just a few feet from the kitchen.

Dale Farm has both men and women attending, they age from 19 years old having just left education to people 60+ who are approaching retirement.
Dale Farm encourages people to develop their skills, provide work environment opportunities and to have friendships with others around them. They promote independence, healthy lifestyles, improve well being and social inclusion.
Organic fruit and vegetables are produced on site by various methods ranging from outside, poly tunnels to inside greenhouses. We were delighted to see an apiary with bees and were more than delighted to have been given a jar of honey from their bees.
Dale Farm also sell, wood for the fire and wood chippings for the garden.

At Dale Farm there is a small farm shop recently refurbished which is open to the public. They sell seasonal produce of fruit, vegetables and plants, plus Dale Farm honey, preserves and pickles. The shop is open Monday/Friday 9-00am to- 4-00pm , please drop in and look.

The Montse Benitez Foundation are delighted to be able to supply a chiller room to help their produce last longer.

Dale Farm is always in need of volunteers. If you have the time please contact them on 0151-342-7819
